Ep 91: In Charge vs In Control - Q+A Call with Eat Confident Collective Members
We have the privilege of working with an amazing group of women in our group coaching program, Eat Confident Collective. We have 2 coaching calls each week where they can show up and get support with whatever they need.
So today, we wanted to do something a little different - especially for those of you who haven’t heard us teach before because you’re not in the Collective, or for those of you who want to get a taste for a group coaching call with us.
We want to share a piece of a past coaching call here on the podcast.
We got permission from the members we mention to share this, and we’re so excited for you to get to hear what it’s like.
These were all random, unplanned questions, and as will be obvious to you as you listen, we didn’t come prepared with polished answers. It was fun and off the cuff and spontaneous...but hopefully as helpful for you as it was for the women in the Collective actually asking the questions.
We want to preface this coaching call snippet with a few thoughts.
Here’s the thing: in this coaching call, we talk about the word discipline.
We use some words in here that you might not totally attach to an Intuitive Eataing approach, but we’re all for finding that gray area and not completely eliminating aspects of structure.
The whole point is that structure is important. Without structure - without you kind of stepping up and taking care of yourself, in whatever way that looks like - you’re not going to succeed at healing your relationship with food and your body.
In this episode we talk about urge surfing (or surfing the urge), which is a therapeutic tool we love and had taught about previously in the Collective.
We also talk about discipline, and the idea of being in control vs. being in charge.
We have a member come on to share her concerns about sugar and we walk her through some mindset shifts around sugar that we hope will help you as well.
